The Central Coir Research Institute (CCRI) under the Coir Board successfully organized a three-day Orientation Training Programme on the Coir Industry and Coir Pith Composting from 27th to 29th October 2025. The programme focused on familiarizing aspiring entrepreneurs with the coir sector and equipping them with the technical competencies and operational insights required to establish and manage coir-based enterprises.
The programme was formally inaugurated by Dr. Shanmughasundaram OL, Director RDTE (i/c). Throughout the training, subject experts delivered thematic sessions covering Coir Board schemes, entrepreneurship facilitation services, market support mechanisms, incubation opportunities, and Accounts Management, including financial procedures, cost analysis, and essential documentation practices. The curriculum combined classroom instruction with practical exposure in fibre processing, coir pith composting, machinery operation, industrial visits, and marketing strategies—ensuring a comprehensive and hands-on learning experience for all participants. The programme concluded on 29th October 2025 with the distribution of certificates to all participants.
